As a future leader, every decision that I make has to be in the best interest of student needs and to ensure we have analyzed and researched all potential decisions. Implementing any applications must achieve 2 goals: the improvement of student and teacher performance. Applications must be user friendly and have a support system from the developer to adjust the program based on teacher/user feedback.
This assignment allowed me to analyze the critical information needed to evaluate an application and ensure our users are receiving what they need to be successful. Educational programs must collect data to ensure their programs are effective in the classroom. We often see programs that are implemented but are not user friendly and/or are not effective in the classroom environment. Educational programs and developers must pay attention to the feedback of it’s users as they are the users with the field experience and it’s also just as critical for teacher to not stay silent about the ineffectiveness of a program. In other words, we must work together to construct an educational program that is efficient for its users. As I look back at my experience with educational programs, teachers have been efficient about reporting their concerns with an application. As a future leader, I must communicate clearly with staff and all other stakeholders about how and where they can send their feedback, concerns or issues to ensure we can report these issues to the developer and update the program in a timely and efficient manner. Technology never stays the same, there is always consistent tweaks, adjustments and modifications that will be needed but we must ensure we keep the communication open and consistent between its users and developer.
